  • About your host, Wangari

Hello. I am Wangari Kuria , the Founder and CEO of Farmer on Fire Ltd. Farmer On fire is an organization based in Nairobi, Kenya that provides access to information for farmers across Africa. It also links established agribusinesses like AGRA, John Deere, Heifer International and Min of Agriculture to over 50,000 small scale farmers through digital channels. I am passionate about the vulnerable pastoralists communities that are affected by climate change and I incubate them in my model farms where I commercially produce mushrooms and start their farming businesses. Welcome to my lecture!

  • What we'll do

In this lecture, I will help you understand how you can implement technology to create value and meet the high demand for agri-products across the world. Did you know that Agribusiness is among the most vital sectors of the global economy? Yes, it is and it is incredibly diverse. It is associated with numerous activities such as farming, livestock breeding, aquaculture, agro-processing, food production and marketing. However, we majorly focus on farming which limits our capacity to grow economically. Therefore, I will help you understand how you can engage in other agricultural activities, add value, develop a career and earn an income. Future billionaires will be agribusiness people. I think it's time to validate this statement as young people in Africa. With technological incorporation, we can achieve this. Join me in this lecture as I change the narrative of agriculture and its role in the development of the African continent.

I recently had the opportunity to attend a lecture on agribusiness taught by Wangari Kuria, and it was truly an eye-opening experience. Ms. Kuria's passion for agriculture and her wealth of knowledge on the subject made the lecture both informative and engaging. Throughout the lecture, Ms. Kuria provided a comprehensive overview of the agribusiness industry, covering topics such as market trends, supply chain management, and the importance of sustainable agriculture practices. She also shared real-world examples of successful agribusiness ventures and the key strategies that made them successful. What I appreciated most about Ms. Kuria's teaching style was her ability to break down complex concepts into easy-to-understand terms. As a student with limited knowledge of the agribusiness industry, I found her explanations to be clear and concise, allowing me to grasp the material quickly. Overall, I highly recommend Ms. Kuria's lecture to anyone interested in pursuing a career in agribusiness or anyone looking to learn more about the industry. Her passion for the subject matter and her ability to convey complex ideas in an accessible way make her a truly excellent instructor. I left the lecture feeling inspired and motivated to explore the many opportunities that exist in the field of agribusiness.
