I am a choreographer at Sarakasi studio which was established in Nairobi in 2001 and strives to empower its trainees and contracted artists creatively and economically by giving them tools to manage their art, lives and careers more effectively and successfully. I host dance classes for students interested in learning sarakasi and other dance forms

We'll spend a few minutes informally chatting and getting to know each other. Then we'll gently warm our feet. I'll talk a bit about the different styles of Sarakasi dance and point out what we will be learning. Then it's time for the dancing. Depending on how much time we have, we will learn complicated moves. We will cover a range of disciplines that includes traditional dance, African contemporary, salsa, hip hop, street dance, jazz & other modern contemporary dance, modern traditional dances, Bollywood dance, etc. Our instructors are specialized in human pyramids, somersaults, balancing acts, hoops, limbo, fire acts, tight rope, pole/pagan, clowning, aerial hoops, aerial silks, short trapeze and much more.
